Dipping into his own considerable wealth, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has been buying more television advertising than all the other candidates combined -- of both parties. According to Nielsen Media Research, the Romney ad campaign has been focusing on local TV stations in Iowa and New Hampshire, where he has purchased 2,824 spots, representing 62 percent of the 4,549 spots he has purchased nationwide. Democrat Bill Richardson is in second place among the early ad spenders with 2,231 spots, followed by Christopher Dodd with 1,664. All the other candidates have bought fewer than 100 TV spots thus far.
