Rolling Stones - Rolling Stones Sold $38.4 Million-worth Of Tickets For Five Dates

The Rolling Stones raked in a massive $38.4 million (£24 million) in ticket sales from their five comeback concerts last year (12).

The British rock icons performed a handful of star-studded dates as part of their official 50 and Counting anniversary tour with two gigs in London in November (12), one in New York and two in New Jersey in December (12).

The shows sold out within minutes of going on sale, with tickets for the U.K. dates ranging from around $144 (£90) to $1,520 (£950).

The band came under fire for the high prices, but guitarist Ronnie Wood previously justified the price by claiming it was costing the rockers "millions" to set up their stage.

Now it's emerged the Stones sold a total of 364,864 tickets for the brief run, according to

The five gigs featured a stellar line-up of guests, with appearances from the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton, Florence Welch, Mary J. Blige, Lady Gaga, The Black Keys and John Mayer, as well as former bandmates Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor.
