It’s been a mixed week for The Rolling Stones. They have signed a new publishing deal, and are set to make their first appearance at Glastonbury, but their legendary set designer, Mark Fisher, sadly passed away.

Rolling StonesThe Rolling Stones are still going, somehow

Fisher’s brilliance added the visual element to The Rolling Stones’ famous live shows. In a statement, the band said: "We are all extremely saddened to hear of the death of dear friend Mark Fisher. The remarkable sets he designed for us over the last two decades played a major part in the success of all those tours. "His passion, dedication and professionalism was infectious. We all loved his dry sense of humour and unflappable demeanour, a quietly soft-spoken genius. In other, less sad new, BMG, part of German publisher Bertelsmann, has signed to represent the music catalogue of the Stones.

Rolling StonesAnd they're hitting Glasto this weekend

"This deal is incredibly important for BMG," the company's CEO Hartwig Mausch said in a statement. "Keith and Mick have clearly created one of the most outstanding song collections in rock 'n' roll history".

This weekend, the rockers will hit Glasto for the first time ever – an astounding fact considering their almost monolithic presence in the British music scene over the last fifty years. What’s more, the famous Glastonbury rain is set to be absent, so fans can enjoy a dry festival. Heaven indeed.
