Rolling Stones - Rolling Stones Coachella Mystery Deepens

Sources close to the Rolling Stones have shot down reports the rockers will be headlining this year's (13) Coachella festival in California

The two-weekend April (13) event popped up on the band's own official app in December (12) under their tour dates section, sending fans into a frenzy but the post was quickly removed.

And now it looks like that was just a hoax - a band insider tells Rolling Stone magazine the Stones will not perform at this year's (13) Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

The rockers reunited last year (12) to celebrate their 50th anniversary and played five dates in November and December (12).

Frontman Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards have hinted there will be more dates in 2013.

The line-up for this year's Coachella is set to be released later this month (Jan13).
