Rocker Summer Allowed Rehab Visit Before Trial

Eighties rocker HENRY LEE SUMMER has been granted his request to enter a substance abuse rehabilitation programme in Tennessee as he awaits trial on charges of drug possession.
The 53 year old, real name Henry Swartz, was arrested in Indianapolis, Indiana on 6 May (09) after allegedly attempting to discard his stash of illegal substances from his car during a routine traffic stop.
He was charged with possession of methamphetamines, one count of obstruction of justice, and two counts of resisting law enforcement.
Summer, best known for his 1988 hit Wish I Had A Girl, is currently due to stand trial on 8 September (09) - but he is keen to kick his drug habit so he can attend his next court date clean and sober.
His lawyer's motion to admit the rocker to a Nashville rehab programme was approved by Indianapolis Judge Jose Salinas on Tuesday (09Jun09), and Summer will spend at least four weeks in the centre to overcome his drug problem.
