Rocker Hetfield Released From Hospital

METALLICA frontman JAMES HETFIELD has been released from hospital after suffering from a severe bout of food poisoning which forced the group to scrap a Swedish show.
The rockers were set to perform in Stockholm on Saturday (07Mar08), before Hetfield fell ill shortly before showtime.
Drummer Lars Ulrich took to the stage to announce to 16,000 disappointed fans that they would not be performing, citing Hetfield's illness as the reason for the cancellation.
He told the stunned crowd, "As you can see, one of us is missing tonight. Unfortunately I have to tell you that James has had a really, really bad day and is on his way to hospital right now.
"We believe hell have to stay for tests and we fear that somethings seriously wrong with him. So unfortunately, we wont be able to play for you tonight."
Hetfield was admitted to Karolinska University Hospital where he was diagnosed with severe food poisoning. He was released in the early hours of Monday morning (09Feb09), according to local reports.
Ulrich has promised to reschedule the cancelled gig, adding: "Weve been talking to our Swedish friends and aim to come back in May to make it up to our fans. Were really looking forward to that."
