Rock Fans Dead In Festival Coach Crash
11 September 2012The revellers were returning from Bestival on the Isle of Wight, off the south coast of England, when the bus they were travelling in careered out of control, crashed into a tree, and overturned.
Three people died in the crash - two festival-goers and the coach driver - and a fourth was airlifted to a nearby hospital suffering from serious injuries.
Several more passengers on the 51-seat vehicle were taken to medical centres in the region for emergency treatment.
The accident happened on a main road in Surrey, England. The coach was returning festival-goers to the north-west of England from the three-day Bestival event, which featured headline sets from Stevie Wonder, Florence + the MAChine, and New Order.
