Robin Gibb Was Probed By Fbi Over Threats To Lawyers

Late Bee Gees star Robin Gibb was once targeted by officials at the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) over allegations he threatened lawyers during a divorce battle.

The pop star split from his first wife, Molly Hullis, in 1980 after 12 years of marriage, but their break-up turned ugly, and documents newly-released to the New York Post reveal he later sent threatening messages to her legal team.

The papers, released from Fbi vaults in Florida and New York following a Freedom of Information request, show staff at Haymon & Walters reported Gibb to authorities after receiving "numerous threatening telegrams from Gibb which threatened their lives".

In one message sent to the London law firm's office, Gibb wrote, "What you have done is just about the limit. I warned and warned you. The situation is now very serious. Know one (sic) walks all over me... I have had enough."

The New York Post reports that the Fbi's probe into Gibb was dropped when Hullis' lawyers declined to press charges.

The singer died in May (12) at the age 62 after a battle with liver and colon cancer.
