Robin Gibb To Play Titanic Requiem

Robin Gibb has confirmed he will return to the stage again next month.

The Bee Gees singer will perform his track 'Don't Cry Alone' as part of the world premiere concert of his debut classical work, 'Titanic Requiem'.

The singer is currently recovering after fighting colon and liver cancer, and the performance will be only the second time he has taken to the stage in 2012.

The 'Titanic Requiem' will be performed at the Great Hall, Central Hall, Westminster, London on the 100th Anniversary of the day that the cruise liner Titanic began its fateful Journey, which would see it hit an iceberg and sink, killing over 1,500 people.

Robin - who will be joined by his son, RJ Gibb, for the performance - said: ''RJ and myself are thrilled to see our 'Titanic Requiem' performed in full.

''I feel great, and I'm particularly excited about performing this Brand New song and to have such special guests joining me on stage with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra makes this the realisation of a dream.''

Robin has amazed doctors with his recovery since undergoing seven rounds of chemotherapy for his cancer - which he battled for over 18 months - and he believes he will win his fight.

He said: ''I've had a scare. But now I'm happy to say I'm nearly better.

''I have undergone chemotherapy and the results, to quote my doctor, have been 'spectacular'.''

Robin's first performance since treatment was last month, when he joined military trio The Soldiers for a Coming Home charity concert at the London Palladium, in support of injured servicemen. After he performed he received a standing ovation.
