Robin Gibb - Robin Gibb Rushed To Hospital, Undergoing Tests
Pop star Robin Gibb is undergoing tests at an Oxfordshire hospital after suffering from crippling stomach pains. The Bee Gees star, whose brother Maurice died from intestine complications, was rushed to the Radcliffe Hospital on Thursday afternoon (13th October 2011), reports the UK's Daily Mail.
His wife Dwina called the emergency services after Robin began complaining of pains at their mansion in Thame. The singer, who was forced to pull out of a BBC Songs of Praise concert, has since released a statement claiming he is undergoing "tests for abdominal pains". He told fans he is also being treated for inflammation of the colon, adding it was a difficult time for the family. Is not clear how long Robin will spend in hospital, but a friend of the star said, "They're doing tests trying to get to the bottom of this. It's a very hard time for everyone. Dwina is with him and she is concerned. Who wouldn't be?" Gibb is known to be an argent tee-totaller and vegan, but twin brother Maurice passed away in 2003 following a twisted intestine. Last year, Robin had emergency surgery to remove part of his intestine after suffering pains at a concert in Belgium.
Gibb and his brothers Maurice and Barry made up THE Bee Gees, one of the most successful pop acts of all time. Their hits include 'I've Gotta Get a Message To You' and 'Massachusetts'.
