Robin Gibb Aiming To Attend Memorial Unveiling
The music legend, who has been battling colon and liver cancer, contracted pneumonia earlier this month (Apr12) and slipped into a coma for 12 days before regaining consciousness this week (ens22Apr12).
Gibb remains in hospital as doctors monitor his condition, but his son, Robin-John, has revealed the star is hoping to be back to full fitness in time for the June (12) unveiling of the Bomber Command Memorial in London's Green Park.
Robin-John tells Britain's Sunday Express, "Dad, thank heavens, has awoken from a 12-day coma. He will do everything in his power to build himself up so he may attend the unveiling of the memorial, of which it was his greatest honour to be a part."
Gibb was instrumental in the campaign to have the memorial built in honour of the aircrews of World War II.
The memorial will be unveiled on 28 June (12).
