Robert Pattinson - Robert Pattinson Shocks With Shaved Head At Awards

Known for his famous head of hair and sharp suits, Pattinson strutted out on stage with a clean buzz-cut, while wearing a casual polo shirt and jeans. According to US Weekly magazine, there is no word yet on why the British actor has decided on the drastic new cut, though it may have something to do with a forthcoming movie. Back in July 2011, the Twilight star was spotted with a similar shaved look at the Comic Con in San Diego, though it was attributed to a pivotal scene for thriller flick Cosmopolis. The David Cronenberg movie, based on Don DeLilo's book, is already complete, though speculation suggests the latest cut may have something to do with re-shoots. The movie follows a New York multimillionaire on a 24-hour odyssey across Manhattan and is due out later this year. On picking up the award for Water for Elephants - which was welcomed luke-warmly by critics in 2011 - Pattinson told the audience, "Woah. Thank you very much. I don't know why they asked me to accept it because it's really a lot of other people as well", adding, "When I was doing this movie, I was having so much fun doing it that I was saying to everyone I didn't even care if anyone saw it. But now that people have seen it and they're giving awards for it, I'm even more thankful for the whole experience, so thank you guys very much".

As well as his turn in the final Twilight movie 'Breaking Dawn 2', set for release in November, Pattinson has also completed work on drama 'Bel Ami', about a young man's rise to power in Paris.
