Robert Pattinson No Role Model
Robert Pattinson thinks it is ''ridiculous'' parents expect him to be a role model to their children.
Robert Pattinson doesn't want to be a role model.
The 23-year-old actor admits he is not concerned about the impression he gives to his younger fans in the roles he chooses because it is down to parents to teach their children morals.
He said: "That's the least of my concerns. I think it's so ridiculous, people putting pressure on the arts. I think parents should be the ones who teach kids.
"The more you try to hide things like that, the more exciting and appealing they are.
"The abstinence movement is only a reaction to everybody being so obsessed with sex for the past 20 years or so. It's crazy to think that young people, when their hormones are most raging, are suddenly like, 'Oh, I don't want any of that.' "
Discussing his upcoming movie 'Bel Ami' with Uma Thurman, Robert claims he plays an "a*shole" who doesn't change for the duration of the film.
He told Time Out Dubai: "This guy is a complete a*shole. He remains an a*shole to the end and everyone congratulates him for it."
'Bel Ami', which also stars Christina Ricci and Kristin Scott Thomas, is due for release in 2011.
