Robert Pattinson Lands Major Lawrence Of Arabia Role
Robert Pattinson will play Lawrence Of Arabia in 'Queen of the Desert'.
The 'Twilight' actor has landed the role of T.E. Lawrence opposite Naomi Watts in Werner Herzog's historical drama.
The film will chronicle the life of writer Gertrude Bell (Naomi) who defined the borders of The Middle East and was a pioneering an author, archaeologist, explorer and political attaché for the British Empire.
Robert, 26, will play British Army officer T.E. whose writing earned him international recognition under the name Lawrence of Arabia. He helped Gertrude establish the Hashemite dynasties in what became Jordan and Iraq.
Robert currently features in David Cronenberg's 'Cosmopolis' and is next set to star with Guy Pearce in Australian drama 'The Rover', as well as in indie thriller 'Mission: Blacklist'.
The star gave his first public interview yesterday (14.08.12) since his girlfriend of three years, Kristen Stewart, was caught having an affair with married 'Snow White and the Huntsman' director Rupert Sanders.
The heartthrob kept quiet about his personal life when probed on 'Good Morning America', however.
TV host George Stephanopoulos commented: ''You seem to be doing OK,'' to which Robert replied, ''Yeah, yeah.''
