Robert De Niro - Robert De Niro Celebrating 30th Anniversary Of The King Of Comedy At Tribeca Film Festival
Robert De Niro will celebrate the 30th anniversary of his movie The King Of Comedy after selecting the Martin Scorsese picture to close the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival.
The actor and co-founder of the annual New York event has announced a newly-restored version of the black comedy will be screened during the festival finale on 27 April (13).
A statement issued by De Niro reads: "I was a big fan of the script and was very excited to do it with Marty and happy that we finally made it. The fact that it's been restored (hard to believe so many years have passed) is even all the better, and I can't wait to see it on our closing night."
His longtime collaborator and legendary director Scorsese adds, "Making the picture was quite an experience... I'm so happy that after all this time, The King of Comedy is finally getting a restoration, from our wonderful friends at Fox."
The 12th annual Tribeca Film Festival will kick off on 17 April (13) and will open with the world premiere of filmmaker Tom Berninger's documentary about life on the road with his brother Matt's cult band The National.
