Robbie Williams - Robbie Williams announces tour

Robbie Williams wants to cement his ''legacy'' with his European tour.

The 'Candy' hitmaker has announced a string of concerts for 2013 - beginning in Manchester on June 19 - and plans to use his first major headlining shows since 2006 to cement his place in pop history.

He said: ''I'm buzzing, I'm ready to go. I haven't done a tour like this since 2006 and I'm at a place in my career where it's time to put my foot down and say, 'This is what I do.'

''It's legacy time, I'm nearly 40 and I don't know how often I'll get the opportunity to do this. I want to say 'Remember me'''

The 38-year-old star has pledged the shows will be even bigger than the record-breaking gigs he staged in Knebworth Park six years ago.

He said: ''Knebworth is supposed to have been the apex of my career but I'm challenging myself to do better than that.''

Support on the tour comes from Olly Murs and Robbie couldn't be happier to have him on board.

Speaking at a press conference to announce the tour - which is presented in association with Samsung - he said: ''He's smashing it with hit after hit and he's a fantastic entertainer. I see a lot of myself in him.

''I'm very proud he said yes and very pleased I've got a kindred spirit coming on the road.''

And Olly has vowed not to let his friend down.

He said: ''This is an important tour for me, I want to put on a great show for Robbie's fans.''

Tickets for the tour go on sale on Friday (30.11.12).
