Rob Zombie's band split horror

Rob Zombie started making horror movies because his bands kept breaking up.

The 'Dragula' singer was in White Zombie from the mid 80s to 1998 - when they disbanded due to fights between the band and because he had broken up with his girlfriend, bass player Sean Yseult - when he went solo, but in 2001 after his new touring band also started arguing he decided to let music take a backseat while he made films.

He said: ''You spend so much time together, and people change. Money changes things. Money seems to heighten people's personalities.

''We were playing arena shows and no-one's f***ing talking to each other. I couldn't take any more drama between musicians. I decided to stop making music and start making movies. ''

Rob has previously said his early experiences of forming a group in New York were not successful, as many of the people who wanted to play with him were unreliable.

He added: ''I was serious about what we were doing. When your guitarist shows up without a guitar and says, 'I sold it to buy drugs', that's not a good situation.

''Drugs were everywhere in New York. Everyone knew at least five people who had overdosed.''

Rob has now returned to music and released four albums to date, in addition to directing six full length films, including 'The Devil's Rejects' and 'House of 1,000 Corpses'.

He will be touring the UK with fellow rocker Marilyn Manson this month on the Twins of Evil co-headlining tour.

Twins of Evil tour 2012, UK dates:

Nov 26, London, The O2

Nov 27, Manchester, MEN Arena

Nov 28, Glasgow, SECC Hall 3

Nov 29, Birmingham, National Indoor Arena
