Rob Lowe - Rob Lowe Suffered For His Craft In Behind The Candelabra
Rob Lowe suffered for his art while filming new Tv movie Behind The Candelabra because the tape used to give the actor a superficial brow lift gave him migraines.
The former The West Wing star underwent a physical transformation to play Liberace's plastic surgeon in the Hbo film, spending nearly two hours in the makeup chair each day to achieve a more youthful appearance.
Artists used heavy-duty tape to literally pull back Lowe's skin to eliminate the wrinkles from his face, and the 49 year old insists it was extremely uncomfortable.
He tells Ew.com, "It's literally what they used to do in the early days of cinema before there were facelifts for actresses. It was actually really painful, because being pulled that long and that hard for a 12-hour day - it gave me migraines."
The hunk also wore false teeth and a wig for the part, and the 49 year old hopes he never has to use synthetic hair again: "We shot during the summer. It (the wig) was unbelievably hot. It was definitely not the most comfortable experience physically for sure."
Behind the Candelabra premiered on Tv in America on Sunday night (26May13).
