Roald Dahl - Roald Dahl Named Favourite Children's Author

Roald Dahl has seen off competition from famed Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling to be named the world's best-loved children's author.

The late writer, who created classics including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, and The Witches, topped a poll of parents and kids put together to mark International Children's Day on Tuesday (02Apr13).

Rowling, who wrote the boy wizard books which became a global phenomenon, came in second place, ahead of another British writer Enid Blyton, who created the Famous Five and the Secret Seven series.
