Rivers Escapes Manhole Accident
Joan Rivers and her daughter narrowly escaped injury on Monday morning (23Jan12) after a manhole cover exploded close to their car in New York.
The veteran funnywoman and her daughter Melissa left Rivers' Manhattan apartment and stepped into a limousine to travel to an appearance on Good Morning America to promote the upcoming second season of their TV show Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best?
However, just moments after their car pulled away, a manhole cover blew up and flew through the air.
Rivers confirmed the incident to New York Post gossip column Page Six, saying, "We could have had our premiere and the finale on the same day."
