Former child star RODNEY ALLEN RIPPY is in a critical condition at a North Carolina hospital after he was injured in a dirt biking accident on Monday (06Sep10).
Rippy, who landed a small role in Mel Brooks' 1974 movie classic Blazing Saddles, refused to seek medical attention following the incident, when he was thrown 10 feet (three metres) into the air, but he admitted himself to hospital on Wednesday (08Sep10) after experiencing breathing difficulties.
Doctors discovered the 42 year old had sustained broken ribs and a punctured lung and he is now being cared for in the hospital's trauma unit, his publicist tells TMZ.com.
