Rio To Fly At Box Office

Twentieth Century Fox's animated Rio could very well sell more tickets during its opening this weekend than any other film has thus far this year, according to some predictions. The movie, which features the voice talent of Jesse Eisenberg and Anne Hathaway, is expected to earn $30-40 million -- perhaps more if U.S. audiences respond as avidly as have audiences abroad, where the film opened last week with $55 million. Its primary competition comes from another animated film, Universal's Hop , which has held the top position at the box office for the last two weekends, and from the Wes Craven horror film Scream 4 , which some analysts expect will earn close to $30 million.
