Ringoism

It's so frustrating still. I can't think of any other artist or group that has warranted this much attention after their break-up or individual deaths. Thank God we still have Ringo & Paul; but after all this time the Liverpool council did not find a way to make Ringo Starr's childhood home a museum? Why wasn't it placed in Enland's National Trust ages ago!? They did it for John's and Paul's home residences. What about the last 2 residences that George Harrison grew up in? I haven't heard about those in awhile. Were those placed in the Trust? What will become of the homes of Pete Best, Stu Sutcliffe, or Brian Epstein? They're part of the Beatle lore too. And I still can't believe how the Liddypool council allowed the original Cavern to be torn down after all those local protests; only to rebuild a replica for the tourists! It was such a big deal that it made international news. We all know that a replica is not the same. Those structures should have been marked for preservation not demolition. Everyone knows that the Beatles put Liverpool on the map! Beatle lore is the bulk of that city's tourism. They built a freakin' hotel named for one of their songs ("A Hard Day's Night"; Lennon said that was a phrased coined by Ringo (a "Ringoism"). Not for nothing they earned their MBEs from the Queen of England for bringing the British economy back from the brink. It's an economic & historical fact! The City Council of Liverpool and perhaps the larger county of Lancashire or Merseyside should have had a handle on all this the minute John Lennon was murdered in NYC back in 1980. My old hometown of NYC knows a thing or two about history but unfortunately we let Shea Stadium get torn down too (the Beatles were there & so many others). Sometimes it's necessary? Most anything that the Beatles have touched has since turned to "gold". People want to retrace their footsteps as little kids. People want to touch anything they ever owned as seen in the latest auctions, fetching millions of dollars (even Lennon's toilet seat from his London home!). Liverpudlians get it, except for those holding public office in Liddypool! Oh well, nothing lasts forever and all Man's efforts are full of vanity and folly. Just build a sign that points to where Ringo's home used to be. I'm sure they had to build a sign that pointed to where the Cavern used to be. Alas, the Roman Colliseum still stands. Makes me wonder; is it in better shape than Ringo's old Madryn neighborhood? Hmmm.

They need to preserve Ringo's house just like they have John and Paul's, they will be sorry they tore it down. They tore the Cavern down but they rebuilt it again because the tourist flocked to see it Liverpool is a SPECIAL place because of those 4 lads. Please think before you destroy.

MOI!

Bunch of da*n idiots. I wrote to them, no luck. I am also tired of seeing Ringo treated as if he were not a full Beatle. I just don't get it. Yes, it is absolutely insane what they did to the Cavern. Is someone missing a brain in that outfit? The Beatles ignited a love for England that I have never grown out of. When I visited England, for the first and only time so far, all that I wanted to see was Beatle sites. Liverpool is Beatle Home, to get rid of anything that they had anything to do with is folly. If they ran the capital in the US, they'd get rid of the Washington monument!
