Ringo Starr - Ringo Starr Gives Drum Kit To Teenage Cancer Survivor
Beatles legend Ringo Starr has made one lucky fan's dreams come true after giving him his drum kit.
Brain cancer survivor Alexx Kipp, who also suffers from Tourette's Syndrome, reached out to the rocker through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants wishes for youngsters with life-threatening illnesses.
Starr agreed to meet the teen at the Hard Rock Cafe in Los Angeles, where they chatted and played drums together, before the Brit surprised Kipp by giving him the drum set.
Kipp's father Charles tells the Los Angeles Times, "Alexx came to me one morning and he said, 'Dad, I had a dream last night and I met Ringo.'
"This was before we knew it was going to happen. About a week later we got the call. I told him, 'It looks like your dream came true.'"
Discussing his involvement with Make-A-Wish, Starr adds, "It's huge. It puts you in your place. You think you've got a cold - you're all, 'Oh, what about me?' Then you help these kids. You think of the families. I've got children too, and it's got to be hard."
