Rihanna's father has criticised the U.S. justice system after her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown was handed a "light" sentence for assaulting the star.
Earlier this month (Jun09), the R&B star was given a community service order and probation for felony assault and making criminal threats in relation to his attack on Rihanna in February (09).
Brown will serve six months of hard labour in his home state of Virginia, complete five years of probation and enrol in a domestic violence counselling program after pleading guilty to the charges.
The Umbrella hitmaker was left battered and bruised following the violent row, which occurred in Los Angeles on the eve of the 2009 Grammy Awards.
Rihanna's father, Ronald Fenty, is furious an L.A. judge failed to imprison Brown over the attack - insisting justice has yet to be done.
He says, "He should be in jail. Chris should have been sent to jail for what he did to my girl. He's got off lightly. Chris put her through hell."
