Rihanna To Play Whitney Houston In Forthcoming Biopic?
Rhi-Rhi faces stiff competition, though, from Jennifer Hudson. Not only has Hudson won an Oscar for her performance alongside Beyonce in the 2007 film Dreamgirls, she was also chosen to perform a tribute to Whitney Houston at this year's Grammy awards, where she performed an emotional cover of Whitney's biggest hit, 'I Will Always Love You.'
Other potentials for the role include Vivica Fox (known for her performances in Kill Bill and Independence Day) and the former American Idol singer, 22 year-old Jordin Sparks. Sparks had been working on a remake of the 1970s film Sparkle, with Whitney Houston before she passed away earlier this month. It was also suggested that Will Smith's daughter, Willow Smith may be selected to play a young Whitney in the film. Whitney herself was the star of the 1992 film The Bodyguard, in which she starred alongside Kevin Costner. 'I Will Always Love You' - a cover of a Dolly Parton song - was recorded for the film's soundtrack.
