Rihanna - Rihanna Suing Former Accountants For Loss Of Earnings
Rihanna is suing her former accountancy firm for loss of earnings, Bbc News reports today (July 6, 2012). According to the report, Rhi-Rhi is unhappy with the way that Berdon Llp handled her finances, particularly during her 2009 'Last Girl on Earth' tour. Rihanna hired the firm back in 2005, when she was 16 years old and trying to launch what has now become a very successful career in pop music.
The lawsuit - filed under her real name, Robyn Fenty - claims that Berdon "failed to recommend she cut back on expenses when her tour in 2009 was losing money." They're also being blamed for the fact that Rihanna, now aged 24, is the subject of an on-going audit from the Internal Revenue Service (Irs), the US tax authority. She has also accused them of poor book-keeping and is arguing that they claimed 22 per cent of the earnings from her 2009 tour, whilst she was paid just 6 per cent. Rhi-Rhi's lawyers have stated that her earnings have increased significantly since she fired the accountancy firm. Ron Storch is a partner at the firm; he stated that the firm could not comment on the case.
Meanwhile, Rihanna's father Ronald Fenty has caused a stir in the media by saying that he thinks Rihanna and Chris Brown make a good couple. Brown was charged with assaulting Fenty's daughter in 2009, in a widely-publicized attack which left Rihanna with a bruised and bloodied face.
