Rihanna Named GQ's Obsession of the Year

Rihanna has been named GQ Magazine's Obsession of The Year, and what a year it's been.

Beginning with a rundown of the highlights of Rihanna's successes (and very sparse highlights it is, to include all her accolades would be long, and boring to read), GQ note her incredible attainments in relation to her young age: "She's on the verge of releasing Unapologetic, her seventh studio album in seven years. (The last six have sold more than a million copies each.) She's been named the most downloaded artist ever, the most popular star on Facebook, the sexiest woman alive; she's reached nearly 3 billion views on YouTube; she's Rihanna Inc., a multimillion-dollar enterprise," they say, and "She's 24." Few people can boast such success, but GQ don't focus for long on her career, swerving quickly to more personal questions.

"I was a lot more naive about the way I moved and the way I was being perceived." The  'Diamonds' singer says, "The more you hear people talk about 'Oh, you're a sex symbol,' it just makes you think, 'Why are you saying that?' And I figured it out." Without revealing that what it is that she's 'figured out', she clearly intimates the limits of what she's happy to talk about. So when the interviewer asks what turns her on, she candidly replies. "I like to feel like a woman... I have to be in control in every other aspect of my life, so I feel like in a relationship, like I wanted to be able to take a step back and have somebody else take the lead." She follows this up with, " "I could absolutely be dominant." Of course, although she adds, romantically, "Love makes you go places you probably wouldn't ever go, had it not been for love. But I think everybody still has their limits."

They also speak about her tattoos and briefly about what her success has meant about the way she's perceived by others. If you're looking for the low-down on her and Chris Brown, this isn't the place for you. Yes, the interview is interesting but what I'm sure you're gagging to know about are the photos, let's leave you with this: little is left to the imagination.
