Rihanna - Rihanna Changed Outlook After Assault
Rihanna thinks Chris Brown's 2009 assault on her had a ''subliminal effect'' on her behaviour, giving her a more ''f**k you'' attitude.
Rihanna has adopted a "f**k you" attitude since being assaulted by Chris Brown.
The 'S&M' hitmaker believes the attack from her then-boyfriend - which happened in 2009 and left her with a split lip and cuts and bruises to her face - had a "subliminal" effect on her and changed her entire outlook on life.
She told America's Cosmopolitan magazine: "There was definitely something subliminal happening. It was coming out in the way I dressed, the way I did my hair, the way I talked, the way I took my pictures, the kinds of pictures I wanted to take.
"It was a very aggressive and defensive time, and that allowed me to start not giving a s**t. I walked around with a very f**k you attitude."
Rihanna - who is currently single, but was recently romantically linked to actor Colin Farrell - also feels she has a very male attitude in the way she searches for love.
She said: "I'm open to love, but guys should have to earn it. Because the minute they get it, they want something else. Men are like hunters - they like the chase. Actually, I'm like that too."
Chris was sentenced to five years probation and six months community service for his attack on the star, and although they separated after the assault, Rihanna, 23, caused a stir by adding Chris to the list of people she follows on twitter last month.
