Rihanna - Rihanna And Aguilera's Risque Tv Performances Ruled Ok By U.k. Censors
Rihanna and Christina Aguilera's risque 2010 performances on Simon Cowell's British TV talent show The X Factor have been ruled "acceptable" by the nation's TV censors.
Thousands of viewers complained to officials at TV watchdog committee Ofcom about the raunchy sets, prompting an investigation.
On Wednesday (20Apr11), the censors confirmed they had received over 2,800 complaints about the performances, but saw no reason to press the matter further with broadcasters or the performers themselves.
According to Nme.com, Ofcom chiefs have ruled that Rihanna's racy, hip-thrusting What's My Name routine was "suitably limited", while Aguilera's performance of Express was deemed OK because she was promoting the film Burlesque, and it so fitted thematically.
