Ricky Wilson Rejected The Voice Role
The rocker was tempted by the offer to join the U.K. version of the hit American talent contest as the high-profile show would have increased his band's profile.
But Wilson reveals he snubbed the opportunity because he was overwhelmed by niggling doubts.
He tells Britain's Daily Star, "I had an email conversation with the Bbc about it, but it just didn't feel right. The reason to say yes to the offer is obvious - those huge viewing figures would have shifted us a lot of records.
"The musical landscape has changed a lot since our first single in 2004, and the way of the world now is if you're on one of those big TV shows, you sell records. But if you've got that one bit of doubt, you should listen to that more than the 99 per cent of you that's screaming, 'Do it.'"
The Voice, which debuted in the U.K. last month (Mar12), features Sir Tom Jones, Jessie J, will.i.am and The Script star Danny O'Donoghue as its coaches.
