Ricky Gervais Donates To Hospital After Losing Bet
The funnyman took to the microblogging site on Thursday (21Jun12) and dared Lineker to use a sporting cliche while he hosted the Bbc's coverage of the Czech Republic's Euro 2012 game against Portugal.
In a message to the host, Gervais wrote, "Gary Lineker: I am watching you on my TV. I dare you to use the phrase 'it was a game of two halves'. I would enjoy that."
Former soccer player Lineker replied, "I will suffer the abuse that will follow my uttering of the cliche, just because it's you."
The Office star stayed tuned to witness the presenter use the phrase during his live broadcast, and delighted Gervais agreed to make a donation to a children's hospital in return, writing, "You did it! You are a man of honour. I will donate £1000 to Great Ormond Street Hospital. The boy done good. Cheers."
