Richard Hawley Still Upset By Winehouse Death

Richard Hawley says it ''breaks his heart'' to think of the demise of Amy Winehouse.

The guitarist could see the self destructive edge the young singer had before her death from accidental alcohol poisoning in 2011, and felt it was inevitable she would die as a result of it.

He said: ''I think it's quite obvious that there are certain people who won't make it.

''It's like Amy Winehouse, bless her. It was obvious to all the older [musicians] who had been around for a long time what would happen if that [situation] didn't change. It breaks my heart to see that great talent destroy itself.''

Richard - who was formerly a member of Pulp, and has released seven solo albums - is also a fan of the Arctic Monkeys, who hail from the same city, Sheffield, as himself, and he particularly likes their recent image overhaul, making them look like a 50s biker gang.

He added to Shortlist magazine: ''They do things I don't. They're out there riding motorbikes while I just fantasise about it.''

Speaking about the band's singer, Alex Turner, he added: ''He's not the first young man who's fallen for the allure of a quiff and leather jacket, and he won't be the last.''

There will never be anyone else like Amy Winehouse. Someone created a memorial page for Amy on Evertalk within Facebook. You can post in her guestbook and read her biography.
