Richard Gere Tries To Show 'Human Side' Of Arbitrage Role

Richard Gere has tried to show the ''human side'' of his billionaire bad boy role in 'Arbitrage'.

The 63-year-old actor knows he faces a tough challenge of making audiences identify with character Robert Miller, but insists the villain ''is not an evil person''.

He admits that the character has made some ''very bad decision,'' and has spent ''his life believing on own hubris,'' but hopes audiences will connect and sympathise with Robert.

Richard told Reuters: ''I've been delighted by how many people came up to me and said they felt bad because they identified with him so much and wanted him to get out of his problems.''

'Arbitrage' has been described by writer and director Nicholas Jarecki as a ''classic tragic tale of a good man gone wrong.''

The movie - which tells the story of a troubled hedge fund magnate who makes an error and is forced to turn to an unlikely source for help - also features performances from Susan Sarandon, Tim Roth, Brit Marling and Nate Parker.
