Daniel Radcliffe - Reviews In For Woman In Black, Daniel Radcliffe’S First Post-potter Performance

Daniel Radcliffe will soon be appearing on cinema screens, in his first ever role since the end of the Harry Potter franchise. The screen adaptation of the popular stage play The Woman In Black is scheduled for release in the United States tomorrow (February 3, 2012) and the following Friday in the UK.
Whilst Radcliffe has admitted that he 'confuses' kids who associate him so strongly with the character of Harry Potter that they assume he can do magic, he has managed to extricate himself from his cinematic CV and impress some critics with his latest performance. The film has been rated highly on the Rotten Tomatoes review site, with one view stating that the film represents "life after Harry Potter" for the young star. However, other critics have said that, although the film itself is a winner, Daniel Radcliffe's performance is its weakest link, with Roger Ebert saying that he lacks 'gravitas' onscreen.
Daniel Radcliffe has previously appeared in the West End stage production of Equus as well as appearing in December Boys. But now that the Harry Potter franchise has ended, with 2011's Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, all eyes are on Radcliffe to see how his career will pan out. He already has another film in the pipeline, playing Allen Ginsberg in Kill Your Darlings (set for release in 2013) but he may have to better his Woman In Black performance if he wants to keep the critics onside.
