Reverend And The Makers To Open Tramlines

Reverend and The Makers will open Sheffield's Tramlines festival.

The band have recently returned from a two year hiatus and are headlining the opening day of the event, in Northern England, playing the Nokia Lumia Live stage on July 20.

The group - led by singer John McLure, a Sheffield local - will perform new material from their '@Reverend_Makers' album, in front of an estimated 8,000 festival goers.

Organiser of the event, Sarah Nulty, said: ''We are delighted to be opening this year's festival with some true Sheffield talent, and for the first time ever, opening the main stage on Friday night.

''Reverend and the Makers played our very first year and we are really pleased to have them back.''

After Reverend and the Makers' set, True Tiger DJs - who have remixed tracks by Ed Sheeran, Snoop Dogg and Dizzee Rascal - will take over, with a huge light show illuminating the city's entire Devonshire Green.

Over the course of the three day festival, Nokia Lumia Live will host a number of other gigs from acts including Becoming Real and Aluna George, as well as special appearances from Ibiza Rocks resident Nicola Bear and UK garage DJ and producer Mj Cole.

The festival, which showcases three days of both new and established artists across the city, takes place from July 20 to 22 and will also feature performances from Roots Manuva and We Are Scientists.

Nokia will host performances and highlights from the Lumia Live stage on its UK Facebook page, for more information visit facebook.com/nokia.uk
