Research Firm Predicts Continued Strong Ad Revenue For Cable

While some analysts express concern that cable television networks may be heavily impacted by customers who opt for Internet video sites and begin dropping their cable subscriptions -- so called cord-cutting -- researchers SNL Kagan said today (Tuesday) that cable networks will see a 14-percent rise in ad revenue to $25.5 billion this year, softening to a 10-percent rise next year to $27.9 billion. The firm is predicting slower growth after that -- about 8.9 percent -- but significant growth nonetheless. Best ad performers this year News Corp's cable networks, led by the Fox News Network, up 23-percent over 2010.
