Report Tony Scott Had Brain Tumor When He Committed Suicide
Action film director Tony Scott, whose films included Top Gun, Crimson Tide, The Taking of Pelham 123, The Last Boy Scout, and Beverly Hills Cop 2 , has died at age 68, an apparent suicide. Police said that Scott, the brother of director Ridley Scott, died after jumping off the Vincent Thomas Bridge, which connects the Los Angeles suburb of San Pedro to Terminal Island. Reports say that he left a list of contacts in his car and a suicide note in his office. Details of the note have not been disclosed, but ABC reported today (Monday) that he had recently been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. Tony and Ridley often joined forces. Tony produced Prometheus, which his brother directed. And their production company, Scott Free, produced the CBS hit series The Good Wife and the upcoming four-hour medical thriller Coma due to be released next month on A&E.
