Renee 'Happy' Being Single

Hollywood actress Renee Zellweger has said she is comfortable being single at the moment and is not feeling the urge to enter into a relationship.

In an interview with Reader's Digest the Bridget Jones star, who has been linked with Jim Carrey and George Clooney, also spoke about how her dislike of the celebrity lifestyle made her leave Los Angeles.

The 38-year-old actress told the magazine: "I don't want to sound cavalier by saying that I'm okay with my situation, because I'm not a frivolous person and don’t take on something of such significance lightly. But there's good in every situation. It sounds simplistic, but I still have the good things that have always been in my life."

But she added that she was disappointed about the annulment of her marriage to singer Kenny Chesney.

The Oscar winner also revealed that she was still not used to being pursued by paparazzi. She cited the glare of the media as the reason for her moving from Hollywood to New York.

Speaking about her decision to switch cities, she said: "I wasn't really into being followed around everywhere by six guys with two-way radios. There's this whole network. You start to recognize them and it's like, You're not invited.

"I have a fitting, then I have to go meet this director to discuss the next project, then I have an interview, and I'm going to go for a run. And you're not invited. But they'll come with you all day. I don't want to feed the fishes. I also don't want to be one of those people who are sour about it. So I decided I'd just leave," she explained.

Zellweger also told the magazine that she didn’t court red carpet publicity and that acting was her real passion.

"That's a different job altogether: going to the scene and getting your picture taken. It all has its place, I'm sure, and it can be a lot of fun sometimes to find yourself in an unusual scenario. But it's not the motivating factor. I don't need to be in the eye of the storm," the actress said.
