Rebecca Black Under Police Protection After Death Threats

Rebecca Black, the teenage YouTube star who was dubbed the "worst singer in the world", has been placed under police protection after receiving two death threats. Rebecca Black's internet hit 'Friday' has been viewed over 110 million times online, attracting mainly criticism, reports the UK's Daily Mail.

The 13-year-old shot to fame after her heavily auto-tuned hit went viral within days of hitting the web. She has since received two death threats, one over the phone and another via email. Anaheim California Police are now said to be keeping a watchful eye on the youngster. Black appeared on 'Good Morning America' last month following the first barrage of criticism, saying, "The worst thing I've read was I hope you cut yourself and I hope you get an eating disorder so you'll look pretty, and I hope you go cut and die", adding, "When I first saw all these nasty comments I did cry. I felt like this was my fault and I shouldn't have done this and this is all because of me. Now I don't feel that way". The singer's mother paid $2000 to the boutique record label 'Ark Music Factory' to the have the now infamous song and video produced. Black has reportedly earned somewhere in the region of $20,000 through YouTube's revenue sharing plan, as well as "thousands of dollars" from iTunes sales.

The hit Fox series Glee recently announced that it would be performing Rebecca Black's viral hit on a forthcoming episode of the show.

I think everyone that is saying bad things about it shouldn't listen to it. This is a 13 year old girl that is getting death threats, really? I hope they find whoever is threatening her and prosecute them to the fullest!! I think the song is good by the way!! If you don't like it, HELLO, don't listen to it stupids!!!! It is a free world and she deserves to hit it big just as much as everyone else. There are people who like it so let all of us who like it listen to it!!! All of you who are making bad comments about the girl are still stuck in your immature stage of life. Really? Don't lower yourself to making bad remarks about the girl. If you don't like the girl or her song fine but keep your mouth shut and your comments to yourself. It would be a boring world if everyone liked the same things. Be better than that!!! Life is too short to fill it with words of hate and anger. Get real guys!!! If you are reading this Rebecca keep singing girl!!!

I know the song sucks pretty bad, but yeah, the death threats shouldn't be sent to her or anyone else that has a bad song, and it's not the worst out there. I also think that Glee has WAY more options to go from, and this should not be done by anyone else, including the young Ms. Black, herself. Let's just put the song behind us and move on.Seriously, they are so angry that they want to kill her? That is just pitiful
