Rebecca Black - Rebecca Black Rising Above Bullies After Leaving School

Rebecca Black, the 13-year-old singer who rose to global fame after her YouTube hit 'Friday' went viral, has been driven out of her school by bullies. Rebecca, who was widely mocked for her heavily auto-tuned track, is now being home-schooled after taunts from classmates became too much.
During an interview with Abc's Primetime Nightline, the singer claimed she was constantly being asked "what day it was" while other students would sing to her in "a nasally voice". The song, which included lyrics such as, "Friday, Friday, Gotta get down on Friday", amassed 167 million views on YouTube, but received 3.1 million "dislikes", an 87% negative rating - comments on the video were eventually disabled in May 2011. Rebecca, who has been the victim of death threats, said, "It's hard to go to school when you are so famous and to have kids constantly making fun of what's going on". Black is readying her debut EP and insists she won't allow the bullies to affect her career, saying, "I think if I hadn't had to deal with that in the past then I totally would have handled this differently and I would have gone down in burning flames. But I've learned that you just can't let it get to you".
Black recently appeared on-stage with Katy Perry and featured in the singer's video for 'Last Friday Night. She released her second self-produced single 'My Moment' on 18th July 2011.
