Real Housewife Accepts Deal Over Assault Charges
THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NEW YORK CITY star KELLY BENSIMON is set to escape an assault charge filed by her ex-boyfriend after striking a deal with prosecutors.
Bensimon, one of six housewives featured in the U.S. reality TV series, was arrested in March (09) and charged with misdemeanour assault after her lover Nicholas Stefanov accused her of punching him during an altercation on 3 March (09).
Stefanov, 30, filed a complaint with police and Bensimon turned herself in two days later. She was subsequently released on her own recognisance.
As part of the deal, 40-year-old Bensimon will serve two days of community service and have the assault charge against her dropped if she stays out of trouble for one year.
Bensimon did not have to plead guilty to make the deal.
