Razorlight start comeback

Razorlight made their live return to London last night (28.09.12)

The 'Fall to Pieces' band - fronted by Johnny Borrell - have kept a low profile since 2009 but after some line-up changes they have written a new album and are on the comeback trail, performing one of their first shows in celebration of Guinness founder Arthur's Day at Senate House in London.

The band didn't preview any new material in their half hour set, instead sticking to fan favourites including 'Golden Touch', 'America', 'Rip it Up' and 'Somewhere Else'.

Speaking ahead of their performance Drummer David 'Skully' Sullivan said: ''We've recorded the album, we've done some gigs, we didn't go out on the big festival circuit, we're kind of reconnecting the band with people, it's a new line up, it's the same and different, there's definitely a continuation, but its fresh.''

Guitarist Gus Robertson - who completes the band with Johnny, David, and Freddie Stitz - added: ''This year we didn't want to overbook ourselves as we wanted to concentrate on getting the album finished and out. We all can't wait for it to be released.''

The Arthur's Day celebrations also featured a special performance by Wretch32 from a balcony of Senate House, as well as sets by V V Brown and Sir Tom Jones, who delved into his extensive back catalogue to perform tracks including 'Delilah', 'It's Not Unusual' and 'Mama Told me not to Come'. Celebrities in attendance included Jamie Winston, Kate Walsh and Nick Moran.

Arthur's day has been celebrated in Ireland since 2009, and this year marked the first time celebrations have been held in London, as well as 55 other cities across the world.
