Ray Davies - Ray Davies Delays Konk Sale
The Kinks star Ray Davies is to postpone the sale of his fabled London recording studio Konk.
The rocker was considering selling Konk for $3.2 million (£2 million) as a "development opportunity" last year (10), but he is now delaying plans to sell the legendary venue, which was set up as the Kinks' private studio in the 1970s.
He tells the Bbc, "It was up for sale but I've got another record I've got to do so we're debating what to do now. It's open for discussion.
"There's a lot of history with The Kinks, we bought it as a hang-out really, somewhere we could rehearse and record and it mushroomed into a studio. We've had some really good acts over the years come here."
The Bay City Rollers, Thin Lizzy, the Bee Gees, Depeche Mode and The Stone Roses are among the acts who have recorded at Konk.
