Ratings: Something For Everybody

Just about every network had something to boast about following the release of last week's ratings results. NBC could brag that it was once again the No. 1 network among the key 18-49 age group -- the sixth consecutive week that it has held that title. CBS could claim victory among total viewers and those 25-54. ABC could crow that, if you removed Sunday Night Football from the equation, it was No. 1 in nonsports programming among the 18-49 demo. Only Fox, which was returning to regular programming following the World Series, had little to show off. Moreover, while ratings for all the networks, except NBC, have been down when compared with last year, improvements were noticeable in Week 6. CBS said that its audience grew 5 percent versus the same week last year. In particular, CSI: Crime Scene InvestigationThe CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley placed third with 6.1 million viewers. Overall, CBS won the week with a 7.3 household rating and a 12 share. NBC and ABC tied for second with a 5.2/8, while Fox trailed with a 2.7/4.
