Ratings For Daytime Tv Shows Tumble
Suggesting that more and more television viewers are watching programs during the day that they previously recorded during primetime, Nielsen noted Wednesday that ratings for virtually every program aired during daytime and primetime access declined or was flat during the sweeps week ending February 20. Some of the more significant losers included Inside Edition, which was down 12 percent; Family Feud and Rachel Ray , down 11 percent; Access Hollywood and TMZ , both down 10 percent; and Judge Alex , which plunged a whopping 21 percent. The sole exception to the downward trend was the game show Jeopardy! , which pitted an IBM computer, Watson, against former champs Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter for three days, thereby producing the show's highest ratings since 2007.
