Rare Springsteen Footage To Air At Toronto Film Festival

A documentary featuring rare video footage of BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN working on his fourth album is set to open the Toronto Film Festival in Canada next month (Sep10).
The Promise: The Making of Darkness on the Edge of Town was directed by longtime Springsteen filmmaker Thom Zimney and includes scenes of the rock legend in rehearsals with his band.
The film follows The Boss after the release of his smash hit album Born to Run in 1975 until 1978, when his music ground to a halt as a result of legal proceedings with his former manager, Mike Appel.
The videos were locked away for more than three decades but fans will now get to see The Boss at work during the late '70s when the documentary is shown at the 2010 Toronto Film Festival.
It will then air on U.S. cable channel HBO in October (10).
Richard L. Plepler, co-president of HBO, says, "The fact that this footage has been sitting in a vault, and no one has seen it for more than 30 years is just extraordinary."
