Rapper Yg cut short his concert in Alberta, Canada over the weekend (01-03Aug14) after crowdmembers began hurling bottles at the stage.
The hip-hop star, real name Keenon Jackson, was just 20 minutes into his set at the Encore at West Edmonton Mall venue in the early hours of Saturday (02Aug14) when the audience became unruly, pelting the rapper and his stage security with various missiles, including glass bottles.
The reason for the show trouble remains unclear, although some reports suggest the chaos began after Yg became embroiled in an altercation with some members of the audience.
Video footage of the event appears to show Yg approaching the disgruntled gig-goers, before his security guards intervene to pull him away and take him backstage.
Yg has yet to discuss the incident, but he took to his Twitter.com blog after his early exit and sarcastically commented, "Thatt s**tt was fun (sic)".
The star appeared to have a better time in Toronto on Sunday (03Aug14), when he made a surprise appearance at Drake's annual OVO Fest, opening for reunited hip-hop icons Outkast.
Sharing a photo of himself onstage in front of cheering fans, he wrote, "OVOFest surprise guest. Me N**Ga... Toronto just welkomed me (sic)."
