Trina - Rapper Trina Hit With $50 Million Lawsuit
Rapper Trina has been hit with a $50 million (£31.25 million) breach of contract lawsuit.
The rap star/model, real name Katrina Taylor, was slated to judge an online video contest called America's Next Top Rapper in Massachusetts last December (11), but she allegedly failed to show up and meet her promotional obligations for the gig.
Now executive Lawrence Wright and event organisers at Omnipresent Media have filed legal papers at the Queens County Supreme Court in New York seeking a hefty sum in damages.
An excerpt of the document, obtained by the Courthouse News Service, reads, "Trina, despite being paid to do so, never attended or participated in the competition in any form or fashion as agreed.
"Due to defendants' breach of the agreement, plaintiffs, in order to salvage the events, were forced to arrange for a substitute artist to appear, on short notice, as a judge in the competition, as defendants gave plaintiffs no notice whatsoever that Trina would not be present as a judge for the competition."
