Imprisoned rapper B.G. is making good use of his time behind bars by writing a new novel.

The hip-hop star, real name Christopher Dorsey, was sentenced to 14 years in prison in Louisiana in July (12) on two counts of gun possession and one charge of witness tampering.

And now the 32 year old has reached out to his fans to thank them for their support and reveal he is keeping his brain sharp by penning his first book.

In a letter, obtained by XXLMag.com, he writes, "I want everyone to kno (know) that I truly appreciate all the Love + Prayers I have received... I can't begin to express how much I THANK Yall for the support you all have (been) giving me through out this whole situation...

"They can lock up My Body but they Cant lock up my Soul. I just been laying back writing... Im staying Prayed up, Keeping my head up. I kno (know) my fans been asking for some New S**T, its coming Soon... It's definitly (sic) gonna be a page turner, if you kno (know) me you kno (know) I tell great stories so stay tuned for my 1st Book.

"One thing they Cant lock up is my mind... I owe it to my Family and Fans to Keep going and I wont let yall down. I kno (know) alot of my Fans been concerned and worried but Im Good. It is What it is. Don't feel sorry for me I Can Handle It. Once again Thanks for all the Love + support."
